"Thanks so very much Rob! Your session during the conference was absolutely phenomenal. Talk about differentiated instruction – you have it mastered. Your passion, enthusiasm, instructional approach, emotional appeal and invitation to make the “Spirit of Caring” our first love embraced the very essence of the event." Akeda Pearson-Stenbar, Office of Equity Assurance and Human Relations, Anne Arundel County Public Schools

I am passionate about creating arts and life skills programs for talented yet economically-disadvantaged students, adults with mental illness, homeless adults and veterans. My workshops at the conference will offer an interactive toolkit of music, art and creative writing activities that educators can use to make thinking visible. It's hands on, we'll be making, doing and reflecting! I am a 2013 Innovator of the Year (Maryland Daily Record), 2012 Mentor of the Year (Anne Arundel County, Maryland) and 2011 Martin Luther King Peace Maker Award recipient for my arts integration work with underserved groups who love to learn but don't often have access to the quality educational and arts programs. I am an accomplished jazz guitarist with many recordings. Many have been used for films, commercials, NPR and on Sirius/XM radio. I write a popular educational blog on Education Closet at http://educationcloset.com/category/posts-by-rob/ Also, here is a video about some of the work I do with Creating Communities: http://youtu.be/vHvTpKxBnCI I am very excited to present at the conference and learn "How and Where Does Learning Thrive?" from the many talented educators that will attend! See you at the conference!
